About the Event
Known as the 'Verdi Soprano', Rev. Nadine Benjamin MBE is a British lyric soprano of Jamaican-Indian heritage, born in Brixton, South London.
Nadine made her Royal Opera House début in A New Dark Age and her Glyndebourne Festival Opera début in the title role of Luisa Miller (2021). She spent two seasons as an English National Opera Harewood Artist, with roles including Clara (Porgy and Bess), Laura (Luisa Miller), Mimi and Musetta (La Bohème), Desdemona in Marina Abramović’s The Seven Deaths of Maria Callas, and Mother (Blue). She is currently featured in the V&A’s exhibition The Music is Black: A British Story, and recently appeared with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and at Brighton Fringe Festival 2026.
