About the Event
Home Brass are a thriving and passionate brass quintet, based in London and the Home Counties. They perform a wide variety of styles, spanning the past 500 years of classical music, right up to jazz, pop and musical theatre from the present day, regularly performing their own arrangements and compositions.
Individually, their members hold busy freelance performance schedules, and are used to performing in many different musical styles within the space of a working week. They find that this breadth allows them to explore each work they perform in as much detail as possible, and they aim to approach their rehearsals and performances from more than just one angle. This versatility is even reflected in the venues they have performed at; from delivering a recital at the prestigious St. James' Piccadilly, to playing at Inferno's nightclub in Clapham as part of the 2018 World Cup festivities, to
performing in Regent’s Park as part of their Jazz on the Broadwalk concert series.
In July 2021, they made their debut performing for the CollectIvel music group, performing the final concert of the festival, and made their first foray into professional recording and filming using the beautiful St. Andrew’s church,
Biggleswade as a venue.
Looking to the future, the group are beginning work on a large-scale recording project including music never heard for brass quintet that will see them truly cement their identity as an ensemble.
